The Samburu. The Samburu tribe of Northern Kenya are distant cousins of the Massai. I was fortunate to visit one of their bomas well before tourism started to impact. I only had with me a small film camera, but it was discreet and I worked in close. This image was caught one afternoon when the young men started practicing their dances, which (like the Massai) included jumping to a great height. Of the many photographs I took, this one captured their enthusiasm.
This photograph has traditionally been printed on black /white archival photo paper and mounted and framed. It is now available under silicone "glass" or on aluminium dibond. Sizes: 15 x 10cm to 88 x 60cm
