Millennium Bridge. In 1999, I became obsessed with the new bridge planned to span the River Thames in London. Its design excited me. It was to link St.Pauls Cathedral to the new temple of art, The Tate Modern. This image captures the optimism of the time, illustrated by the modern design of the bridge and by the number of building cranes on the skyline. Optimism, and the feeling "in with the new" is to me, what this image represents.
